Newlands Adventure Centre & Keswick Climbing Wall are looking for General Assistants who are prepared to muck in, work hard and have some fun by making the most of the opportunities working at Newlands can offer. Experience and personality count for a lot, however, to be seriously considered for any position you must be prepared to be flexible in your hours of work and be happy to work hard to play hard! A basic food hygiene certificate is a bonus when applying for any position.

During school term time you will work split shifts at Newlands and have two day off per week, these may not fall on the same days each week. Each position has its areas of responsibility but in general, a typical day for a member of the Domestic team working at Newlands looks like this: -

0700 - Set up for breakfast.

0800 - Breakfast service.

0845 - Clear away & have your own breakfast

0900 - Chef and Kitchen Assistant prep evening meal & staff lunches.

       Domestic staff clean the entire building & make clients packed lunches.

1230 - Staff lunch.

1300 - Clear away staff and client’s lunch.

Afternoons are free to do as you please. You are able to join in with activities if there is an available space!

1700 -  Set up for evening service.

1800 -  Evening meal service.

1845 -  Clear away and clean down after meal

1930 -  Have your own evening meal

Evenings are free to do as you please. You can join in with the group or use the on site bar when open!

During school holidays you will take it in turns to work at Keswick Climbing Wall in The Hungry Heifer Cafe. A days work in the cafe is 9am till 5pm and you are responsible for preparing and serving our clients food and drinks as required as well as maintaining the high standards of cleanliness required in a kitchen environment.

Requirements

Our season usually starts in late March early April.

No Experience is needed however it is preferred if possible!

Personality counts for a lot, however to be seriously considered for any position you must be prepared to be flexible in your hours of work and be happy to work hard to play hard!

A Level 2 food hygiene certificate is a bonus when applying for any position.
