We are seeking an experienced GCSE Maths and English Tutor to support students in Trafford, with a particular focus on learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role offers the opportunity to deliver personalised, one-to-one tuition that helps students improve their grades, build confidence, and reach their potential.
This position is ideal for tutors who have hands-on experience teaching GCSE content and supporting SEN students, offering a flexible, part-time schedule while making a tangible difference.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-to-one GCSE Maths and English tuition tailored to individual SEN learning needs.
Adapt lesson content, pace, and teaching strategies to support diverse learning profiles, including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH.
Support students in developing subject knowledge, exam techniques, and confidence.
Build positive, trusting relationships to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
Monitor progress and provide clear, constructive feedback to students, parents, carers, and professionals.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience tutoring or teaching GCSE Maths and/or English.
Proven experience supporting students with SEN in a 1:1 or small group setting.
Right to work in the UK.
Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable Qualifications:
PGCE in Secondary Education and/or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Familiarity with exam preparation and assessment strategies for GCSE learners.
Experience with students who have Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
