About the Role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced GCSE Maths & English Tutor to join our team in Lancashire, starting in January 2026. This role involves delivering 1:1 GCSE Maths and English lessons to students who require additional academic support. We are looking for someone who can adapt their teaching methods to meet the unique learning needs of each student, helping them build confidence and achieve success in their GCSE exams.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver tailored GCSE Maths and English lessons, adjusting the content and pace to suit each students needs.

Support students in developing subject knowledge, refining study skills, and boosting exam confidence.

Establish a supportive and engaging learning environment while building positive relationships with students.

Track student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback to parents/carers or relevant professionals.

Develop structured learning plans, using a therapeutic approach when necessary, to support each students learning journey.

Essential Requirements:

Minimum 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring Maths and/or English.

Right to work in the UK.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Ability to work independently and manage flexible schedules.

Desirable Qualifications:

QTS or PGCE in Secondary Education.

Experience working with students with SEN (Autism, ADHD, SEMH).

Additional Information:

Sessions typically take place during school hours, with some opportunities for after-school or evening tutoring.

Prospero Teaching will support you with resources and regular progress monitoring to ensure the best outcomes for each student.
