Functional Skills Tutor
Job Details
We're looking for experienced and engaging Functional Skills Tutors to support children and young people across Hampshire on a 1:1 basis.
Working alongside Local Authorities, you'll provide tailored support to learners who require alternative educational provision, helping them develop essential skills in English and Maths while building confidence and engagement with learning.
Many students may have additional needs such as ASD, SEMH, ADHD, anxiety, school avoidance, or EHCPs, requiring a flexible and personalised approach.
Location: Hampshire
Hours: Flexible
Start Date: September 2026
Type: 1:1 Functional Skills Tuition
Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Requirements
Minimum 6 months' experience working in an educational setting
Experience delivering or supporting Functional Skills English and/or Maths
Ability to adapt sessions to individual learning needs
Experience supporting learners with SEND or additional needs is desirable
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Patient, reliable, and engaging approach
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
