About the Role

As a Service Team Leader, you’ll supervise a team responsible for delivering high-quality services to a diverse customer base. You’ll oversee daily operations, manage staff performance, support operational processes, and ensure the smooth running of service delivery.

You’ll play a key role in maintaining operational standards, managing resources, supporting compliance requirements, and helping drive continuous improvements across service operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role offering variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to develop your management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Service Delivery

Provide professional, responsive, and friendly service to customers.

Supervise and support your team to deliver consistently high service standards.

Manage shifts effectively, including planning staff rotas and addressing operational needs.

Respond to customer queries, feedback, and issues promptly and professionally.

Maintain high standards of presentation across the service environment and team.

Build positive relationships with customers and encourage feedback.

Operations & Business Performance

Ensure services are delivered in line with quality, safety, and operational standards.

Monitor stock levels and place accurate orders for supplies as required.

Complete regular stock checks and maintain accurate records.

Ensure correct stock rotation and minimise waste.

Monitor equipment and facilities, reporting faults and resolving issues where possible.

Ensure compliance with operational procedures, portion control, and performance standards.

Support the transportation of equipment or supplies as required.

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

Operate electronic point-of-sale systems accurately.

Manage cash handling procedures including opening, closing, and reconciliation.

Maintain security of cash, data, and operational areas.

Complete administrative tasks and records accurately and on time.

Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and operational procedures.

Maintain hygiene, safety, and quality control standards.

Follow Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) requirements where applicable.

Ensure team compliance with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.

Maintain accurate safety and operational records.

Team Leadership & Development

Motivate and support team members to achieve performance targets.

Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.

Conduct performance reviews and development conversations.

Identify training needs and support team development.

Monitor staff attendance and maintain appropriate records.

Support equality, diversity, and inclusion within the workplace.

Handle day-to-day team performance issues and escalate where necessary.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Experience managing staff schedules and workloads.

Knowledge of Health & Safety and operational compliance standards.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good literacy and numeracy skills.

Flexible approach to working hours including evenings and weekends.

Professional and positive approach to team leadership.

Desirable

Experience managing stock control and ordering processes.

Relevant food safety or operational safety qualifications (training provided if required).

Experience using EPOS or similar systems.

Full clean driving licence.

Working Pattern

36 hours per week on a rota basis.

Includes evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Flexibility to work across multiple operational locations as required
