FLT/Warehouse Operative

Job Title: FLT / Warehouse Operative (Hybrid Role – Night Shift)

Location: Wakefield
Shift Pattern:

Sunday: 9:00pm – 6:00am
Monday to Thursday: 9:30pm – 6:00am
Hours: 43 hours per week (30-minute unpaid break per day)

Pay Rate: £16.53 per hour (including shift allowance)
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a FLT / Warehouse Operative to join our busy and fast-paced warehouse team. This is a hybrid night shift role combining forklift truck operation with general warehouse duties within a timber/panel environment. This position is temporary to permanent, offering long-term opportunities for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Operating Forklift Trucks (Counterbalance/Reach – license required)

Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently

Handling timber and panel products

Moving stock within the warehouse and yard

Picking, packing and preparing orders for dispatch

Manual handling and heavy lifting on a regular basis

Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times

Skills:

Requirements:

Valid and in-date FLT licence

Previous timber/panel experience is essential

Previous warehouse experience preferred

Ability to carry out heavy lifting and manual handling tasks

Comfortable working night shifts

Reliable, hardworking and team-oriented

Good attention to detail
