I’m recruiting on behalf of an industry-leading NSI Gold and BAFE approved fire and security provider operating across London and the South East. The sector is busy with new contracts and upgrades, creating strong opportunities for experienced engineers who want a permanent position with training, progression and the chance to work on modern commercial and education sites as well as SME and residential projects.
The companies I represent are looking for engineers who can deliver high installation standards, complete digital job administration in real time and build long-term professional relationships with customers across the region, particularly in counties such as Kent, Surrey, Sussex and the wider South East.
The role will involve:
1st fix and 2nd fix installation works
Planned preventative maintenance and service visits
Fault finding and reactive support
Installation of intruder alarms on Texecom and Pyronix platforms
IP and analogue CCTV installations including Hikvision systems
Access control and door entry using Paxton Net2 style environments
Conventional and wireless fire alarm installation including Advanced, Apollo and Kentec equipment
Emergency lighting installation and testing
Dual Com monitoring devices and communication hardware
Working in line with NSI codes of practice covering installation, commissioning and maintenance
Supporting apprentices or trainees when required
Maintaining supplied equipment such as vans, phones, uniform and tools
Flexibility to work on projects lasting from one day to several weeks
Completion of industry and security screening processes
Engineers are ideally expected to have:
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a Fire and Security Installation Engineer
Strong background in CCTV and Access Control, particularly IP systems
Good IP knowledge required for networked CCTV and access workloads
Working knowledge of intruder alarms and conventional/addressable fire alarms
Confident fault-finding and diagnostic ability
PC / IT literacy
Awareness of health and safety regulations
Ability to work independently or collaboratively
Full manual UK driving licence
Willingness to attend certified training to enhance skill set
Professional, enthusiastic and self-motivated approach
Preparedness to be part of the emergency on-call rota
NSSA screening is required

£36,000 – £47,000 basic salary DOE
