A well-established fire and Security Company in Bedfordshire are seeking an experienced Fire and Security Installation Engineer to join its team. This is a field-based role with a primary focus on fire, Intruder, CCTV and Access control installation across commercial, schools and specialist environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of fire, intruder, access control and CCTV systems, with additional exposure to wider life safety and security systems depending on experience.
The Role
You will be responsible for installing fire and Security systems to a high standard, carrying out additions, modifications, and upgrades, while working in line with British Standards and client specifications. The role involves working independently and as part of a team across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northants, Milton Keynes, with flexibility to travel when required.
Key Responsibilities
Installation of fire alarm systems, Intruder alarm systems, access control. Intercoms and CCTV system and other security products to include changes to existing systems with the occasional servcing of security systems
Working in compliance with NSI and BAFE Standards
Installation and knowledge of signalling devices such as DualCom,
Reading and interpreting drawings, plans, and schematics
Completing site documentation and handover paperwork
Liaising professionally with customers and internal teams
Maintaining high standards of workmanship, customer service, and housekeeping
Adhering to all health & safety requirements and company policies
Occasional working away, nights, or weekends with reasonable notice
Essential Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience within the fire and security industry
Strong working knowledge of NSI and BAFE Accreditation
Experience installing of all security system including Fire
Full UK driving licence
Good IT skills and ability to complete documentation electronically
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work to deadlines and alongside other contractors on site
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
Security and Fire alarm Installation and commissioning experience
Experience with security systems such as intruder alarms, access control, CCTV, or nurse call systems
with progression into Supervisor or lead engineer role
FIA Fundamentals 1 & 2 or higher
ECS / CSCS card
IPAF or PASMA
Strong Knowledge of NSI and BAFE Standards
