Fire & Security Engineer
Salary: £39,076 per year, including a £2,275 standby allowance
Hours: 40 hours per week, full time
Location: Covering designated retail stores
On-call: Required as part of the role
We’re looking for a Fire & Security Engineer to maintain and repair systems across a portfolio of retail stores. You’ll be the first point of response for faults involving fire alarms, CCTV, electronic article surveillance (EAS), access control, public address systems and automatic pedestrian gates.
What you’ll be doing
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and statutory works across your designated stores.
* Diagnosing faults and completing repairs within agreed response and repair times.
* Responding to service requests during working hours and participating in the on-call rota.
* Completing fire alarm maintenance visits in line with BS 5839 and reporting any defects.
* Ordering and fitting replacement parts, and following up on outstanding deliveries.
* Keeping accurate records of work completed, faults found and any further action required.
* Updating the helpdesk and speaking with the Duty Manager during store visits about issues affecting the site.
* Carrying out surveys and preparing reports when required.
What we’re looking for
* Experience servicing or maintaining fire and electronic security systems.
* Fault-finding ability across some of the following: fire alarms, CCTV, EAS, access control, PA systems or automatic pedestrian gates.
* Knowledge of fire alarm maintenance requirements under BS 5839.
* The ability to manage your workload, complete accurate paperwork and communicate clearly with store teams.
