A new opportunity is available for an experienced Fire & Security Designer to join a respected and growing organisation operating across London. This role focuses on producing high‑quality system designs for commercial, residential, and public‑sector projects, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and seamless delivery from concept through to installation.
The position involves working closely with project managers, estimators, and engineering teams to design fire alarm, CCTV, intruder, and access control systems in line with industry standards and client specifications. You will play a key role in shaping technical solutions and supporting the wider project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Producing detailed designs for fire alarm systems, CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control
Creating drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
Ensuring designs meet BS5839, BSEN standards, and relevant regulations
Supporting tenders, quotations, and project planning
Working with engineering teams to ensure smooth installation and commissioning
Liaising with clients and internal teams to clarify requirements and technical details
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience in fire and security system design
Strong understanding of BS5839, NSI, and relevant industry standards
Ability to produce drawings using CAD or similar design software
Good technical knowledge across fire alarms, CCTV, intruder, and access control
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
Detail‑focused, organised, and confident managing multiple projects
