An established, professional services business is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to take over a critical finance function. The role would suit a Management Accountant from a financial services, insurance or professional services background, who enjoys owning the numbers, working in a regulated environment and acting as a trusted finance contact to the wider business
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
Full responsibility for day-to-day accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable
Completion of bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Maintenance of strong financial controls and accurate financial recordsManagement Accounting & Reporting
Preparation of management accounts, financial statements and budgets
Production of detailed financial reports for senior management and external stakeholders
Cost analysis and financial insight to support business decisionsClient & Transaction Accounting
Oversight of complex financial transactions, including premium and client-related accounting
Ensure accurate processing and allocation of income and payments
Maintain clear audit trails for all transactionsCompliance & Regulatory Reporting
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial regulations and industry-specific requirements
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory obligations within financial/professional services
Support and implement audit findings and process improvementsAudit & Stakeholder Support
Act as key finance contact for internal and external audits
Liaise confidently with auditors, insurers, brokers and internal stakeholders
Provide clear, accurate financial information when requiredAdministration & Process Ownership
Maintain meticulous financial documentation and records
Support wider operational and administrative finance tasks
Take ownership of established processes while identifying opportunities for improvement.About You
Proven experience as a Management Accountant (or similar) within financial services, insurance or professional services
Strong technical accounting knowledge and high attention to detail
Confident user of accounting systems and Microsoft Excel (Acturis experience advantageous but not essential)
Highly organised, dependable and comfortable working to deadlines
Professional communicator able to build trust across the business
Comfortable stepping into a long-standing role with responsibility and autonomy
