Essex - QSW - Children in Care team (Chelmsford)

Eden Brown Synergy are currently recruiting for an experienced Children's Social Worker to join Essex County Council within their Children in Care - Mid Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Social Worker with strong Children in Care experience to join a busy service on a locum basis, working with children and young people who are looked after and supporting them through their care journey.

The Role

As a Social Worker within the Children in Care team, you will be responsible for:

Managing a caseload of children and young people in care.
Completing assessments and developing effective care plans.
Undertaking statutory visits and ensuring children's needs and welfare remain central to decision-making.
Working closely with foster carers, families, schools, health professionals and other partner agencies.
Preparing for and contributing to Looked After Children reviews and other relevant meetings.
Promoting positive outcomes, stability and permanence for children and young people.
Maintaining accurate and timely case records in line with statutory requirements.
Working within relevant safeguarding legislation, policies and procedures.

Requirements

Social Work England registration.
A recognised Social Work qualification.
Strong experience working with Children in Care / Looked After Children.
Good knowledge of safeguarding, care planning and relevant children's social care legislation.
Excellent assessment, recording and communication skills.
Ability to manage a complex caseload and work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience working in Social Work roles within a UK English Local Authority.
