Empowering Learning is recruiting an Early Career Teacher (ECT), HLTA or experienced Behaviour Mentor to support pupils at a welcoming, double-form-entry primary school in Denton.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ECT looking for a primary school job in Denton or Tameside who would like to develop their classroom management, intervention and behaviour-support experience before moving into a class teacher position.

The school is led by an excellent and supportive headteacher and forms part of a successful, growing multi-academy trust. The initial placement will run until February 2027, although there is a strong possibility that it could be extended for the full academic year.

The role

Working across the primary age range, you will:

Provide targeted support to pupils requiring help with behaviour and engagement.
Deliver individual and small-group interventions.
Help pupils regulate their emotions and make positive choices.
Support pupils with their learning inside and outside the classroom.
Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and senior leaders.
Provide classroom and lesson cover where appropriate.
Help pupils successfully reintegrate into classroom learning.
Build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.

Who we're looking for

This ECT, HLTA or Behaviour Mentor role in Denton would suit someone who:

Is an Early Career Teacher with QTS seeking further primary school experience.
Holds HLTA status or has relevant classroom and behaviour-support experience.
Can build positive and consistent relationships with children.
Has strong behaviour-management and communication skills.
Is calm, resilient and able to establish clear boundaries.
Works effectively as part of a supportive school team.
Is committed to safeguarding and improving outcomes for pupils.This is not currently advertised as an ECT induction post, but it could provide an ECT with valuable experience within a supportive primary school and growing academy trust.
