We are currently seeking a Digital and Marketing Communications Officer to join a busy communications and engagement team within Sussex Police.

This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team, helping to deliver content, communications, and public engagement activity across a range of platforms. The successful candidate will work alongside another communications officer supporting senior leadership and the wider organisation with digital communications and engagement needs. This is a varied role within a fast-paced environment, reporting directly to the Head of Communications and Public Engagement.

Salary: £21.50 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, fixed term contract with hybrid working available 

Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery of digital communications and social media activity across multiple platforms
Create engaging and informative content for online channels and public engagement campaigns
Assist in promoting organisational campaigns, projects, and initiatives through digital media
Attend events and engagement activities when required
Work closely with the wider communications and engagement team to support ongoing projects
Monitor and respond to digital communications where appropriate
Ensure communications remain professional, accessible, and in line with organisational standards
Support community engagement and help maintain a positive online presence across digital platforms
Contribute creative ideas and content for future communications activity 

Skills, Experience and Training Requirements

Previous experience within digital communications, social media or marketing
Qualified within marketing, communications, media or a related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Creative, proactive and highly organised approach to work
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality content
Previous experience within a public-sector, charity or similar organisation
Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle would be preferred due to occasional travel requirements
