Are you an experienced Deputy Care Manager with a strong background in training, assessing and developing care staff?
Would you enjoy a role where training and staff development are a major part of your day-to-day responsibilities, alongside supporting the management and growth of a busy home care branch?
We're looking for a passionate and people-focused Deputy Care Manager to support the leadership and growth of a busy branch in Wandsworth. A key part of the role will be assessing carers' training needs, delivering training and supporting competency assessments, particularly around medication and practical care skills such as Moving & Handling, catheter and stoma care.
You'll also play a key role in leading and motivating the care team, supporting the Registered Manager and helping to maintain high standards of quality, compliance and person-centred care.

About the Role
Training & Development will be a major part of this position, including:
Assess carers' training and development needs and identify areas for improvement
Deliver and coordinate training to care professionals
Support competency assessments, particularly around medication
Deliver practical care training, ideally including Moving & Handling, catheter care, stoma care and other relevant areas
Ideally use Train the Trainer qualifications to support the ongoing development of the care team
Ensure carers remain competent, confident and up to date with required trainingAlongside the training element, you will also:
Support the ongoing development and growth of the Wandsworth branch
Support the Registered Manager and assume Registered Manager responsibilities during periods of absence
Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing care team
Recruit and support the development of care professionals
Build strong relationships with customers, families and local stakeholders
Drive growth in care hours and establish a strong local reputation
Support the planning and management of staff rotas
Ideally use ACP / People Planner or a similar scheduling system
Take responsibility for quality, compliance and operational performance
Requirements
Experience in a management or senior role within the domiciliary care sector
Strong experience in training, coaching and developing care staff
Experience assessing carers' training needs and delivering appropriate training
Strong medication knowledge and experience supporting medication competency
Ideally hold Train the Trainer qualifications in Moving & Handling, catheter care, stoma care or similar
Experience leading, motivating and developing high-performing teams
Experience creating and managing care staff rotas
Ideally experienced using ACP / People Planner or a similar rota and scheduling system
Strong knowledge of CQC requirements and regulatory standards
Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care, or working towards this
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Proactive mindset with a genuine passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care
Confident leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and develop others
