Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Database Security Engineer to strengthen database security across the organisation. This role focuses on improving database security hygiene, reducing attack surface, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Database Security Hygiene

Identify and remediate database security hygiene issues to ensure alignment with security best practices.

2. Authentication & Access Control

*

Identify and resolve database authentication and access control issues to enhance security and regulatory compliance.

3. Attack Surface Reduction

*

Implement measures to reduce database attack surface area, minimising potential entry points for threats.

4. Encryption & Network Security

*

Improve database encryption and network security controls to protect sensitive data both at rest and in transit.

5. Auditing & Logging

*

Enhance database auditing and logging capabilities to ensure effective monitoring, traceability, and accountability.

6. Security Hardening

*

Manage and enforce database security hardening in line with CIS benchmarks and industry best practices.

7. Vulnerability Management Support

Support the Threat and Vulnerability Management (TVM) team by analysing identified database vulnerabilities and contributing to remediation strategies
