This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing Cyber Security team, delivering a range of security services to customers across multiple sectors and helping organisations strengthen their security posture against an evolving threat landscape.
This role will suit a motivated cyber security professional who enjoys a combination of technical delivery, customer engagement, and providing practical security recommendations.
The Role
As a Cyber Security Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering a range of cyber security services while working closely with customers to understand their security requirements and objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
Defining the scope and objectives of cyber security assessments with customers.
Delivering:
Infrastructure Penetration Testing
Web Application Penetration Testing
Vulnerability Assessments
Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus Assessments
Producing high-quality reports and communicating findings clearly, including practical remediation recommendations.
Supporting pre-sales and post-sales activities where required.
Working alongside vendors regarding technical improvements, updates, and product enhancements.
Maintaining operational documentation and quality standards.
Sharing technical knowledge and contributing to the development of colleagues within the wider team.
Keeping up to date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, technologies, and industry best practices.
Ensuring compliance with information security policies and procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong technical background within IT and cyber security, combined with excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum of 3 years' experience within IT or Cyber Security.
Experience delivering either:
Infrastructure Penetration Testing, or
Cyber Essentials Plus Assessments.
Industry-recognised certifications such as:
CREST Registered Penetration Tester (CRT)
Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
Cyber Scheme CTSM
VA+
Or equivalent certification
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Knowledge of:
Windows and Linux Operating Systems
Active Directory
TCP/IP, DNS, switching and firewall technologies
Hyper-V and VMware virtualisation platforms
OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities
Experience using vulnerability management tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or similar.
Excellent organisational and workload management skills.
GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Certified Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials Plus Assessor.
Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Experience conducting phishing simulations and social engineering assessments.
