Material Planner/Customer Support
Desford LE9 (Onsite role)
Initial 12 month contract – likely to extend for the right Person!
Hours: 37.5 a week (Mon – Fri: - 07:00 - 15:00 or 08:00 - 16:00)
Up to £15.61 PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution OR Umbrella hourly rates up to £21.38

We’re looking for a Material Planner/Customer Support person to join our globally renowned client’s Customer Support and Supply Chain Team in Desford. Working as part of a diverse and friendly team supporting suppliers and end customers, this team are supplying to other client site’s manufacturing facilities. This is an excellent opportunity with a Fortune 100 company; if are a Material Planner or if you have a background in Customer Service within manufacturing/engineering Supply Chain, and strong Excel skills (you’ll need to be able to create pivot tables and do v look ups), this could be the opportunity you are looking for…
What will the Material Planner/Customer Support do?
• Assist customers, ensuring relationships are developed & any queries are resolved with pace
• Enter and manage Customer Orders (including backorder management)
• Collaborate with customers via phone/email/Teams and online tools
• Organise and coordinate required materials and parts with global suppliers
• This work is analytical and requires a problem-solving mindset with the drive to serve customers and exceed expectations
What skills and experience does the Material Planner/Customer Support need?
• A strong communicator who is confident in working with suppliers and customers
• Analytical intelligence: able to anticipate/stop issues arising by identifying possible risks & challenges
• Proficient user in Excel - you’ll need to be able to create pivot tables and do v look ups
• MRP system experience (e.g. SAP, Sage, Navision etc), Power BI would be an advantage
• Ability to thrive under pressure, in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations
• Work well in a team dynamic but also as an individual contributor
• Organisational, Time Management & Prioritisation skills
