Customer Service Advisor

Manchester | Full-time

If a customer has a problem, you'll own it until it's sorted.

We're looking for a Customer Service Advisor to join a small, experienced and genuinely dedicated customer service team within an established consumer products business.

This isn't a high-volume call centre role, and it isn't about getting somebody off the phone as quickly as possible.

You'll deal with enquiries and complaints from both retail customers and members of the public, taking responsibility from the initial contact right through to resolution.

Sometimes the answer will be straightforward. Sometimes you'll need to investigate, speak to other departments, chase information and find a practical solution.

Either way, the important thing is that you care about getting it right.

What You'll Be Doing

Handling customer enquiries by phone and email

Managing complaints from initial contact through to resolution

Supporting both retail customers and members of the public

Investigating delivery, product, order and general customer issues

Liaising with Sales, Logistics, Stock Control and other internal teams

Keeping customers updated rather than leaving them wondering what's happening

Maintaining accurate records of conversations and agreed actions

Following issues through until they are properly resolved

Spotting recurring problems and helping prevent them happening again

What We're Looking For

More than anything, we're looking for the right type of person.

Someone who is patient, conscientious and takes pride in doing a good job.

You'll ideally have:

Previous customer service experience

A genuine desire to help customers and solve problems

Excellent attention to detail

A calm and professional manner

Good written and verbal communication skills

The confidence to deal with complaints and occasionally frustrated customers

The persistence to follow something through rather than simply passing it on

Good IT and administration skills

A reliable, team-focused approach

You don't need to be looking for the next promotion every 12 months.

This could particularly suit someone who wants to join a good team, become really good at their job and be valued for doing it well.

The Team

You'll be joining a small, well-established customer service team where people work together, know their customers and take pride in the service they provide.

If you're naturally helpful, organised and you're the sort of person who hates leaving a problem half-solved, we'd like to hear from you.
