Location: Nechells (5 days a week onsite)

Reports To: Director

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Company Accountant to join our dynamic Recycling business. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations, managing a team of four direct reports, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Company Accountant Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee the daily financial operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.

* Manage and mentor a team of four accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.

* Prepare and analyse financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.

* Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.

* Conduct regular financial audits and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.

* Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives and improve financial processes.

* Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and investment activities.

* Prepare and present financial reports to the CFO and other stakeholders on a monthly basis to include consolidated entity.

* Assist in the development and implementation of financial strategies and policies.

Company Accountant Qualifications:

* Fully Qualified Accountant preferred (CIMA, ACCA. ACA)

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.

* Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Line 50) and Microsoft Office Suite.

* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

* Strong leadership and team management abilities.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Experience in the scrap metal or manufacturing industry is a plus
