We are looking for a passionate and motivated Commis Chef to join a busy production kitchen in Bicester. This role is perfect for someone eager to learn, develop their skills, and work alongside experienced chefs preparing high-quality dishes for a prestigious travel service.
The Role
As a Commis Chef, you will support the senior kitchen team in the preparation and production of premium dishes. You’ll gain hands-on experience while helping maintain the high standards expected by our client.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist chefs in preparing ingredients and basic food production
* Follow recipes and instructions from senior chefs accurately
* Label, organise, and rotate stock, ensuring allergen information is recorded correctly
* Help prepare and pack food to high standards within set deadlines
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workstation, following “clean as you go” practices
* Support stock control, including fridge organisation and basic stock checks
* Follow all food safety, hygiene, and PPE requirements at all times
* Show willingness to learn and contribute to the team
About You
* Some kitchen experience or a strong interest in starting a chef career
* Passion for food and willingness to learn new skills
* Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
* Positive attitude with a strong work ethic
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
* Keen to develop and progress within a professional kitchen
