Commercial Catering Equipment Installation Engineer
Field-based | London & surrounding areas | Permanent, full-time
The opportunity (why you’ll want this role)
If you take pride in quality, well-finished commercial kitchen installs—and prefer proper project work over rushed, “in-and-out” volume jobs—this one’s worth a look.
You’ll be joining a well-established commercial kitchen business with a strong reputation for delivering professional installations and building long-term client relationships.
You’ll work on a genuinely varied mix of sites, from smaller community and independent venues through to larger multi-site operators—so the work stays interesting and you’ll keep learning.
What you’ll be doing day-to-day
You’ll be trusted to run your work properly, with a focus on doing it right first time:
Full commercial kitchen installations (fabrication and equipment)
Installation / replacement of individual catering appliances and equipment
Working alongside other trades and main contractors on live sites
Reading and following drawings accurately, with attention to finish and detail
Diagnosing installation issues and resolving them independently
Keeping a professional, customer-facing presence on site
(Your background should be strongly installation-led, with the confidence to problem-solve on site—this is a role with real ownership.)
What we’re looking for
You’ll be a strong fit if you have:
Solid commercial catering installation experience
The ability to work independently and take ownership of jobs
Clear, professional communication on client sites
High standards and attention to detail
Confidence coordinating around other trades / contractors
Nice to have (not essential):
COMCAT qualifications (particularly 1, 3 and 5)
Working hours
Monday–Friday
07:30–16:30
Some flexibility may be required depending on project demands
Very occasional weekend work available (overtime basis)
Package & kit
Salary: £40k - £50k DOE
Company van + fuel card
Company phone
Uniform provided
5 weeks’ holiday
Permanent, full-time employment
Travel / staying away:
Paid travel time isn’t included unless travel exceeds normal home-to-work mileage. If a job requires staying away, accommodation is paid.
Why this role stands out
Long-term, stable opportunity with an established business
Varied projects (not the same repetitive site work)
Quality-focused installs (not rushed volume service work)
A team environment where standards and reputation matter
