Job Title: Temporary Cleaner (1-Month Contract)
Location: Middlesbrough
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (typically Monday to Friday)
Contract Type: Fixed-term (1 month)
Reporting To: Facilities Manager / Site Supervisor
Job Purpose
To maintain a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across office spaces, workshops, and communal areas within a busy engineering company. The role ensures a clean and professional working environment for staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
* Clean and sanitise toilets, kitchens, and welfare facilities.
* Maintain cleanliness in office areas, meeting rooms, and reception.
* Clean workshop floors and surfaces in line with health and safety guidelines.
* Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately, including recycling where applicable.
* Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, and toilet rolls.
* Report any maintenance issues, damages, or hazards to the supervisor.
* Follow all company health and safety procedures, particularly in engineering/workshop environments.
* Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with COSHH regulations.
* Ensure cleaning equipment is stored safely and maintained properly.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Previous cleaning experience (commercial or industrial preferred).
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Good attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
* Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
* Awareness of health and safety practices.
Working Conditions
* Work may involve cleaning in both office and workshop environments.
* Use of cleaning chemicals and equipment is required.
* Appropriate PPE will be provided and must be worn where necessary.
