The Role As a Claims Handler, you’ll manage insurance claims from first notification through to final settlement. You’ll combine technical accuracy with empathy and outstanding service, ensuring every claim is handled fairly, compliantly and efficiently.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys balancing customer interaction with analytical decision-making, while managing multiple claims and delivering consistently high standards.
What You’ll Be Doing Claims Handling & Decision-Making
Receive and register new claims via phone, email and electronic systems
Gather, review and validate all supporting documentation
Assess policy coverage and determine claim validity
Make settlement decisions and clearly communicate outcomes
Maintain accurate records and robust audit trailsCustomer & Stakeholder Experience
Act as a trusted point of contact for customers and business partners
Build strong, professional relationships with key stakeholders
Guide customers clearly and confidently through the claims journey
Deliver timely, empathetic communication at every stageInvestigation & Assessment
Identify and investigate complex or potentially fraudulent claims
Work collaboratively with business partners, legal representatives and external expertsCompliance & Continuous Improvement
Ensure claims are handled in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Identify and manage complaints in accordance with agreed processes
Contribute ideas to improve claims handling efficiency and qualityWhat We’re Looking For Experience & Knowledge
Experience in insurance, claims handling or customer service (desirable)
Understanding of insurance products and policy wordings
Familiarity with claims management systems and Microsoft OfficeSkills & Attributes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail with analytical decision-making ability
Confident managing multiple cases and meeting deadlines
