Provide legal advice and representation on childcare matters to the Newcastle Town Council.
Handle cases related to child protection, adoption, fostering, and other related areas.
Collaborate with social services, external agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the welfare of children.
Prepare and present cases in court, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
Draft and review legal documents, including care orders and agreements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of childcare law and practices.
Ensure all legal processes adhere to statutory requirements and best practices.
Person Specifications
Must Have
Qualified solicitor or barrister with a valid practicing certificate.
Proven experience in childcare law and related legal proceedings.
Strong understanding of UK childcare legislation and policies.
Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Right to work in the UK.
Nice to Have
Experience working with local government or public sector organizations.
Familiarity with NEPO processes and documentation.
Additional certifications or training in family law.
