Key responsibilities:

Coordinate and respond to auditor queries.

Pull together notes and supporting documentation for accounts close down.

Work closely with existing Dudley team members to keep processes running smoothly.

Brief senior management and auditors on progress and status.

Act as authority on close down matters within the team (without direct line management).

Ensure close down remains top priority across relevant stakeholders.

Essential skills:

Significant experience in local government accounting, particularly in metropolitan districts.

Hands-on experience with year-end accounts close down processes.

Ability to prepare detailed notes for statutory accounts.

Experience coordinating audit queries and responses.

Up-to-date knowledge of local government accountancy standards.

Strong communication skills with gravitas to influence senior managers and teams quickly.
