We are currently looking for a Chef Consultant to provide consultancy support for the development of café hot food and hospitality menus for a new site.
This Chef Consultant role is offered on a 1-year fixed-term contract and will play a key part in shaping the food offer for a new venue during its planning and development phase.
The Role – Chef Consultant
As a Chef Consultant, you will provide expert advice and hands-on consultancy to support menu development, equipment planning, and cost control. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure menus are commercially viable, operationally practical, and appealing to a broad demographic.
Key Responsibilities

Act as a Chef Consultant supporting the development of café hot food and hospitality menus
*
Review and advise on the proposed kitchen equipment list
*
Design and develop café hot food and hospitality menus from concept stage
*
Create menus suitable for a varied demographic
*
Develop cyclic menus appropriate for café/refectory-style operations
*
Ensure menus are practical, scalable, and aligned with operational requirements
Essential Experience
*
Proven experience working as a Chef Consultant or in a senior consultancy-level culinary role
*
Strong background in hospitality and café/refectory-style food service
*
Demonstrated experience designing and delivering cyclic menus
*
Solid understanding of menu costings, margins, and budgeting
*
Experience supporting new site development or pre-opening projects is highly desirable
