Our client, a well-regarded secondary school in Rugby, is seeking an experienced Catering Manager to lead their catering provision and oversee the day-to-day running of the school kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated catering professional to manage a busy service while ensuring high standards of food quality, nutrition and compliance.

The key responsibilities of a Catering Manager:

* Lead, manage and motivate the catering team to ensure an efficient and positive working environment

* Plan and develop balanced, nutritious menus that meet school food standards and cater for dietary requirements

* Oversee all kitchen operations including food preparation, service, cleaning and maintenance

* Manage catering budgets, stock ordering and waste to ensure value for money

* Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health and safety in line with regulations such as HACCP and COSHH

* Carry out risk assessments and maintain appropriate compliance records

* Work collaboratively with staff and students to gather feedback and continuously improve the catering service

The minimum requirements for the Catering Manager role:

* Previous experience in a catering management or supervisory role

* Strong knowledge of food hygiene and food safety regulations

* Experience managing catering operations in a busy environment

* Ability to manage budgets, stock and food ordering effectively

* Strong leadership and communication skills

The ideal candidate for the Catering Manager role:

* Experience working within a school or education catering environment

* Relevant food hygiene qualification (such as Level 3 Food Hygiene)

* Creative approach to menu planning and food presentation

* Highly organised with the ability to work effectively under pressure

* Positive attitude with a strong focus on delivering excellent service
