Various catering shifts available to match food service peak times:
Breakfast: 07.25 – 10.10
Lunch: 11.30 – 14.25
Dinner: 16.30 – 19.45
Bank staff are free to pick up more than one shift per day up to a maximum of 37.5 hours per week.

Temporary for 4 to 6 weeks to cover sicknesses.
Further ongoing adhoc shifts available for Catering Assistants and Domestic Cleaners after the catering placement concludes – all successful applicants will have access to shifts daily shifts for both departments.

Band 2 - £12.51/hr (Weekdays), £17.64/hr (Saturdays) & £22.90 (Sundays/Bank Holidays)

We have temporary placements available for Catering Assistants and Domestic Cleaners at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport. You will start as a Catering Assistant, working on the plating up conveyor belt. You will need to be flexible on your availability, as this role is rota based, with three service periods to choose from. You can work as many shifts as the rota will allow up to a maximum of 37.5 hours per week.

Once the temporary placement has concluded, you are then free to pick up adhoc catering assistant and domestic cleaning shifts when they’re available.

Duties include:

* Basic food preparation on the plating up conveyor belt.

* Temperature checking and serving of food.

* General cleaning of the wards, bathrooms, and communal areas, plus the kitchen and restaurant areas.

* Assisting with delivery and return of food trollies to the wards.

* Responsible for the safe use of kitchen equipment.

* To complete any other tasks as directed by the line manager.

The skills required are:

* Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 is essential. No one can start working without one of these. You will be asked to provide a copy during onboarding – one can be obtained online after completing a short course and passing the multiple-choice questionnaire.

* Experience working in a kitchen or food service environment is essential.

* Experience in cleaning and knowledge of cleaning products and COSHH required.

* Great communication and organisation skills.

* Needs to be physically fit.
