Job Title: Caretaker / Estates Labourer
About the Role
We are looking for a practical, hands-on Caretaker/ Estates Labourer to help keep an FE college safe, functional, and looking its best. This is a varied role for someone who enjoys fixing, maintaining, and improving buildings and grounds.
Key Responsibilities

General maintenance and repairs including fixtures, fittings, furniture, doors, and windows
*
Minor plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks, unblocking drains, and repairing toilet cisterns
*
Basic electrical duties including changing light bulbs and fuses, following safety procedures
*
Minor carpentry and joinery work
*
Painting and decorating, including preparation and touch-ups
*
Grounds maintenance including litter picking, clearing drains and gutters, mowing, and hedge trimming
*
Safe and effective use of a wide range of hand and power tools
What We’re Looking For
*
Strong DIY skills and a proactive, can-do attitude
*
Practical experience across maintenance, repairs, and grounds work
*
Awareness of health and safety best practice
*
Previous experience in an education setting is desirable
*
An enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one.
