Scout recruiting is looking for a reliable and motivated Caretaker to join our clients Facilities Team located in Stamford.

This hands-on role is key to keeping their sites safe, secure, clean, and well maintained. You’ll help ensure the business runs smoothly by carrying out a wide range of maintenance, security, and site management tasks — from opening and locking up buildings to basic repairs, waste management, and general upkeep.

This is a full-time permanent role. Working hours are 37hours and operate on a flexible rota: Early shift: 6:45am – 2:45pm and Late shift: between 10am – 9:30pm depending on the day. 30 days plus BH annual leave. and on site parking.

Also, some flexibility is required for evening or weekend work when needed.

Key responsibilities:

* Opening and closing buildings as part of a shared rota.

* Maintaining the security of the premises and responding to alarm activations.

* Carrying out maintenance, repairs, and cleaning tasks to keep the site in excellent condition.

* Supporting with waste management and recycling.

* Driving company vehicles when required and keeping them in good working order.

* Ensuring walkways and entrances are clear and safe, particularly in bad weather.

* Providing a high standard of customer service to staff and visitors.

* Supporting business events and activities when needed (occasional evening or weekend work with time off in lieu).

Key skills:

* You’ll be proactive, practical, and dependable — someone who takes ownership of their work and enjoys variety in their day.

* Experience in a caretaking, facilities, or maintenance role.

* Practical skills in at least one area such as joinery, plumbing, painting, or electrics.

* A good understanding of building safety, fire, and security systems.

* Strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.

* The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

* Good communication and customer service skills.

* A flexible and professional approach to work.

A full clean driving licence and a First Aid qualification (or willingness to train) are desirable
