The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of one of our partner trusts for a School Caretaker to work across schools in Bodmin and Redruth.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a reliable, proactive and hands-on individual who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in maintaining safe, clean and welcoming school environments.
The Role
Working across multiple school sites, you will be responsible for:
Opening and securing school premises.
Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and basic DIY tasks.
Ensuring the school buildings and grounds are safe, clean and well maintained.
Completing routine health and safety checks.
Supporting with room setups, deliveries and site security.
Liaising with contractors where required.
Responding promptly to maintenance issues across both school sites.
The Ideal Candidate
Previous caretaking, facilities, maintenance or site management experience is desirable.
Good practical DIY and maintenance skills.
A good understanding of health and safety procedures.
Flexible and able to travel between schools in Bodmin and Redruth.
Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
Essential Compliance Requirements
As this role is within a school, successful applicants must be able to:
Provide a full employment history covering the last 24 months.
Provide a minimum of two employment references (three if you have not previously worked with children).
Complete an Employment History Form covering every month from leaving full-time education.
Provide character references where required to cover any gaps in employment.
Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
Provide proof of right to work in the UK.
Provide two proofs of address, proof of National Insurance and any relevant name change documentation.
Complete our free mandatory safeguarding and compliance training.
