Job Purpose

To provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to individuals, helping them maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, promoting well-being, and supporting clients to achieve their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities

Provide personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming in a respectful and dignified manner.

*

Support individuals with mobility and physical assistance, including the safe use of aids and equipment.

*

Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.

*

Administer or prompt medication according to care plans and company policy (where trained and authorised).

*

Encourage clients’ participation in social, recreational, and community activities.

*

Support emotional well-being by building trusting and compassionate relationships.

*

Monitor and report changes in clients’ health, behaviour, or needs to supervisors or healthcare professionals.

*

Keep accurate, timely, and confidential records of care provided.

*

Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for service users.

*

Work in partnership with families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues to ensure continuity of care.

*

Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality policies.

Qualifications and Experience

NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards) preferred.

Basic First Aid and Manual Handling training (advantageous).

Willingness to undergo a DBS check (or equivalent background screening).

Working Conditions

*

Shift-based work including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

*

Work may involve physical tasks such as lifting and supporting individuals.

*

Travel between service locations may be required (for community-based roles)
