An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Care Manager to join an established and high quality care home in Reading, supporting the Home Manager and taking a lead role in maintaining high standards of care across the service.
You will be joining a large and impressive residential care home in a sought-after location in Reading. The care home provides three individual living environments for older people and people living with dementia.
Behind the home is an established, regional care provider with over 20yrs and a long-standing commitment to residential and dementia care, professional development and continuous improvement.
As the Care Manager, you will work closely with the Home Manager, taking responsibility for care standards across the home and deputising in their absence. You will have a strong presence on the floor, leading, coaching and developing the care team to ensure residents receive consistently high-quality, compassionate and person-centred care.
The home embraces technology to support care quality and governance, including digital care planning and monitoring systems.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys leading from the floor and developing others, with the confidence to maintain high standards, address areas for improvement and build strong relationships with residents, families and healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
·Lead and support the care team to deliver consistently high standards of person-centred care.
·Support the Home Manager with the day-to-day running of the home and deputise in their absence.
·Coach, mentor and develop colleagues through observations, competency assessments and on-the-floor support.
·Oversee care planning, assessments and reviews, ensuring residents’ individual needs and preferences are accurately reflected.
·Take an active role in care governance, audits, quality meetings and continuous improvement.
·Maintain strong standards of safeguarding, medication management, compliance and care documentation.
·Complete assessments for prospective and new residents, working closely with families and healthcare professionals.
·Support appropriate staffing levels and skill mix alongside the wider operational requirements of the home.
Requirements:
·Strong experience within residential, dementia or elderly care.
·Minimum NVQ Level 3 - essential
·Previous experience in a Care Manager, Deputy Manager or comparable senior care position.
·Experience leading, coaching and developing care teams.
·Strong knowledge of care planning, medication management and governance.
·A genuine commitment to residents’ wellbeing, dignity and independence.
·Full UK driving licence.
Contract:
·Permanent and Full-time position.
·Salary £40,000pa
·Part supernumerary and part shift work including 8am starts
·Alternate weekend working
