Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager to work in a Residental care home in Sandiacre.
Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring residents receive the highest standards of care, support and dignity.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager with the overall day-to-day running of the home.
* Lead, motivate and supervise the care team, promoting high standards of practice.
* Ensure residents receive safe, person-centred care that meets their individual needs and preferences.
* Assist with care planning, reviews, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
* Monitor the quality of care and ensure policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are followed.
* Support staff with training, development, supervision and performance management.
* Assist with staff rotas and ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
* Communicate effectively with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and other external agencies.
* Respond appropriately to incidents, concerns and complaints and ensure these are recorded and managed effectively.
* Maintain accurate care records and ensure documentation is completed to a high standard.
* Support medication management and health and safety procedures in line with company policies.
* Take responsibility for the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
* Promote a positive, respectful and inclusive culture throughout the home.
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience working within a residential care or similar care environment.
* Has previous supervisory or management experience, or is ready to take the next step in their career.
* Has excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Is organised, reliable and able to remain calm under pressure.
* Has a genuine passion for supporting older people and/or vulnerable adults.
* Understands the importance of safeguarding, dignity, confidentiality and person-centred care.
* Can work effectively as part of a team while also taking initiative and making decisions.
* Is committed to maintaining high standards of care and compliance.
Relevant qualifications in Health & Social Care and/or a relevant management qualification are desirable. Experience of working within a regulated care environment is also advantageous.
