We are recruiting Healthcare Assistants to join a well-established, family-owned residential care service in Allendale, Northumberland. With over 30 years of experience, this stand-alone home provides specialist residential care for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, supporting just 13 residents in a warm, homely environment.
Working in a smaller service allows you to build meaningful relationships with residents, provide truly person-centred care, and become part of a supportive and close-knit team.
Shift Pattern
This is a full-time role averaging 35 hours per week, working a rolling rota of:
Week 1: 3 shifts
Week 2: 2 shifts
Day Shift
8:00am – 6:00pm
Night Shift
6:00pm – 8:00pm (evening support)
Sleep-in: 10:00pm – 5:00am
During night shifts, you will also complete approximately 1–2 hours of cleaning duties to help maintain the home's high standards of cleanliness and comfort.

Your Responsibilities
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will:
Deliver high-quality, person-centred care
Support residents with personal care and daily living activities
Promote dignity, independence, and choice
Provide emotional support and companionship
Assist with mobility and wellbeing
Maintain accurate care records
Encourage participation in activities and social interaction
Complete light housekeeping and approximately 1–2 hours of cleaning during night shifts to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a care setting is preferred
NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable
A caring, patient, and professional approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities
What You'll Receive
