Business Development Manager – Security (Manned Guarding)
Location: North of England - Home based and on the road
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00
Salary: Circa £40,000 (dependent on experience) + Uncapped Commission

About the Role
I am currently working with a well-established and growing security provider who is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team in the North of England. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven, confident sales professional with strong knowledge of the security and manned guarding sector.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, commercially minded, and ready to make an immediate impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive new business opportunities across the North of England
* Manage the full tender and bid process from initial enquiry through to submission and presentation
* Confidently make cold calls and open new conversations to generate leads
* Build quick rapport and develop long-lasting customer relationships
* Grow and nurture existing accounts to maximise revenue
* Take full ownership of your sales pipeline, ensuring consistent activity and results
* Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and excellent service standards
* Conduct site visits, client meetings, and prepare tenders
* Deliver presentations and negotiate deals to close sales
* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure service delivery excellence
* Meet and exceed monthly sales targets
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Proven experience as a BDM within the security or manned guarding industry
* Strong understanding of the end-to-end tender process
* A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to hit the ground running
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust quickly
* Confidence in cold calling and generating new business opportunities
* Strong organisational skills to manage your own pipeline effectively
* Full UK drivers licence
