Job Opportunity: Brokerage Officer (Adult Social Care)
Contract: 6 Months
Hours: 35 per week (Mon-Fri)
Location: Barking Town Hall (Hybrid - 2 days office-based)
Pay:
PAYE: £20.96/hour
Umbrella: £27.33/hour
About the Role
We are seeking a Brokerage Officer to join our Adult Social Care team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact by ensuring individuals receive the right care and support services tailored to their needs.
Key Responsibilities
Commission care and support services in line with service user plans, ensuring quality and compliance.
Maintain accurate cost records and liaise with the Financial Assessment Team.
Prepare and manage Individual Placement Agreements (IPAs) with precision and legal compliance.
Support hospital discharge processes by sourcing placements and care packages.
Negotiate competitive rates with providers to ensure best value for money.
Monitor provider performance via CQC checks and liaise with quality teams.
Manage purchase orders, invoices, and ensure timely payments.
Attend panels and meetings to share expertise in brokering processes.
What We're Looking For
Experience in purchasing care packages or understanding of the social care system.
Strong financial and data management skills.
Knowledge of adult social care legislation (Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding frameworks).
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
