Role Overview

This is a permanent, site-based BMS Automation Engineer role supporting a long-term project located in Crumlin, Dublin. The position offers a balance between hands-on service and maintenance work and a broader system-owner style responsibility, with involvement in sustaining, optimising, and developing the site's Building Management Systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the reliability and performance of existing BMS infrastructure while also contributing to future projects, upgrades, and programming activities. This role is well suited to a mid-level engineer who enjoys a stable site-based environment, ownership of systems, and ongoing technical development rather than purely reactive maintenance work. Experience with Trend and/or Siemens BMS platforms is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on BMS systems (Trend or Siemens)

Diagnose and rectify faults across existing BMS infrastructure in commercial and industrial environments

Respond to reactive maintenance callouts in a timely and professional manner

Perform software updates, controller reconfigurations, and strategy adjustments

Modify and upgrade BMS hardware and control panels as site requirements evolve

Monitor and optimise energy performance using BMS analytics and data interpretation

Act as a system owner for site BMS platforms, ensuring system stability and performance

Support and participate in future automation and system upgrade projects

Produce clear service and fault-finding reports following site visits

Liaise with clients and site managers to explain findings and propose improvements

Essential Skills & Experience

Experience in servicing and maintaining BMS / control systems within the construction or built environment sector

Strong knowledge of BMS systems, ideally Trend and/or Siemens

Valid CSCS or ECS site card

Competent using Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

High attention to detail

Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team

Full UK driving licence
