A growing construction consultancy is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join its team, working predominantly across industrial and new-build developments alongside selected commercial property projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager with one to three years' experience who wants greater responsibility and the opportunity to lead smaller projects.

The Assistant Project Manager will support senior colleagues on larger industrial and commercial schemes while gradually taking ownership of their own commissions. This Assistant Project Manager role would suit an ambitious Assistant Project Manager who wants hands-on project exposure and a clear route towards becoming a Project Manager. The successful Assistant Project Manager will benefit from structured APC support while developing their technical, commercial, and client-facing experience.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

The Assistant Project Manager's role

The Assistant Project Manager will predominantly work on industrial and new-build developments, alongside a portfolio of commercial property projects.

The Assistant Project Manager will support projects from inception through to completion, assisting with programme management, consultant coordination, procurement, contract administration, risk management, project reporting, and stakeholder communication.

Working alongside experienced senior colleagues, the Assistant Project Manager will attend client and site meetings, coordinate project actions, monitor progress, and liaise with consultants and contractors. As their experience develops, they will be given the opportunity to lead smaller projects independently and take greater responsibility for client relationships.

The Assistant Project Manager

The successful Assistant Project Manager will have:

One to three years' experience within a construction consultancy
Experience across industrial, new-build, commercial, or similar property projects
A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related discipline
Progress towards MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or another relevant professional qualification
An understanding of JCT contracts and construction project delivery
Strong communication and organisational skills
Confidence working with clients, consultants, and contractors
The ambition to progress towards independently managing projects

In Return?

APC and chartership support
Professional membership support
Predominantly industrial and new-build project exposure
Opportunity to lead smaller projects
Increasing responsibility as experience develops
