A growing construction consultancy in London is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager with a couple of years' experience to work across commercial, education, and heritage projects.

The Assistant Project Manager will support senior colleagues with the delivery of projects from inception through to completion, while gradually taking responsibility for smaller commissions. This Assistant Project Manager role would suit an ambitious Assistant Project Manager who wants varied project exposure, strong APC support, and a clear route towards becoming a fully qualified Project Manager. The successful Assistant Project Manager will join a supportive team that invests in training, professional development, and long-term career progression.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

The Assistant Project Manager's role

The Assistant Project Manager will support the delivery of commercial, education, and heritage projects across London.

The Assistant Project Manager will assist with programme management, consultant coordination, procurement, contract administration, risk management, project reporting, and stakeholder communication. They will attend client and site meetings, monitor project actions, maintain accurate documentation, and support multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.

As their experience develops, the Assistant Project Manager will be encouraged to take greater ownership of smaller projects while continuing to receive guidance from experienced senior colleagues.

The Assistant Project Manager

The successful Assistant Project Manager will have:

Around two years' experience within a construction consultancy
Experience supporting commercial, education, heritage, or similar projects
A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related discipline
Progress towards MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or another relevant professional qualification
A basic understanding of JCT contracts and construction project delivery
Strong communication, organisation, and report-writing skills
A professional and confident client-facing approach
A proactive attitude and commitment to career development
