Are you an Assistant Accountant with a foundation in manufacturing or FMCG, looking for more month-end responsibility, study support and a clear route into a Management Accountant role?
We’re supporting a growing, fast-paced business that is investing heavily in its finance function. They’re now looking for an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant who wants hands-on exposure, strong mentorship and the chance to build their career in a supportive and values-driven team.
This role offers full study support (ACCA/CIMA) and the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful work from day one.
The Role
As Assistant Management Accountant, you’ll be involved in a wide range of month-end and reporting activities, including:
* Preparing monthly management accounts up to first review
* Posting journals and completing accurate balance sheet reconciliations
* Supporting budgeting, forecasting and departmental cost monitoring
* Performing variance analysis with meaningful, actionable commentary
* Maintaining the fixed asset register and depreciation
* Preparing VAT returns
* Producing weekly KPIs and trading reports
* Supporting audit requirements
* Running site level P&Ls
* Reconciliations
* Completing bank reconciliations and helping improve financial controls
Essential:
* Experience within manufacturing, FMCG or a similar product-led environment
* Exposure to month-end processes
* Strong Excel skills
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Clear communicator with the ability to partner across departments
* Well organised, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Desirable:
* Experience with ERP systems
* Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or keen to start studying
