Our client is looking for a motivated and experienced Assistant Cook to join their friendly and professional kitchen team on a temp-to-perm basis, working approximately 20–30 hours per week.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen environment, takes pride in producing high-quality food, and brings a positive “can-do” attitude to the team.
The Role
Working alongside the kitchen team, you’ll play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen. Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the preparation and service of breakfasts, lunches, and events
* Assisting with the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and maintaining consistently high standards
* Providing cover for the Head Chef during pre-booked annual leave and other planned periods of absence, ensuring continuity across the kitchen
* Maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety
* Following all relevant health & safety and food hygiene regulations
* Working collaboratively with the wider team to deliver an efficient and welcoming service
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
* Experienced in a professional kitchen environment – previous cooking experience is essential
* Reliable, hardworking, and well organised
* Flexible and comfortable working evenings, weekends, and events when required
* Friendly, approachable, and confident working as part of a team
* Someone who naturally takes a “can-do” approach and is willing to get stuck in
* In possession of relevant food hygiene certification, or willing to obtain it
* Able to travel independently, as your own transport is essential due to the remote location
