They are seeking a hands-on accounts professional to perform a financial accountant / assistant accountant job and to support the wider finance team with month-end accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting (in time with training and support).
You’ll report directly to the group financial controller and work closely with the general manager on-site — a key sole charge finance position in a small business yet part of a larger group, which can offer long term career progression and on going study support.
The finance job will grow into the below with support and training
Financial accountant job role:
* As an assistant accountant / financial accountant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function, with responsibility for:
* Accurate and timely completion of month-end accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet)
* Intercompany reconciliations within the group
* Overseeing sales ledger, purchase ledger and cashbook
* Processing bank payments and preparing bank reconciliations
* Reviewing and submitting statutory returns (VAT, tax)
* Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
* Liaising with external auditors during annual audits
* Improving processes and procedures
* Ad hoc project work -eg Integration work - and supplier analysis
Key requirements for finance assistant / assistant accountant job:
* We’re looking for a motivated and detail-focused AAT studier , finance assistant / AAT qualified or part-qualified accountant or ambitious QBE who enjoys working in an independent and varied role.
* You maybe a ledger clerk (purchase or sales ledger) who is really keen to find a varied role!
* An understanding of debits and credits is essential
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
* Good Excel and ability to work independently
* Confident communication skills and a proactive attitude
* This role would suit an experienced finance assistant, ledger clerk, accounts assistant, assistant accountant ready to progress, or a part-qualified accountant/AAT studier or QBE seeking broader exposure in a supportive ambitious environment. - MOST important is positive attitude to learning!
