Assistant Accountant (Part-Time)

Contract: 1-Year Fixed Term
Working Pattern: 3 Days per Week
Salary: £32,000 pro rata

We’re looking for a detail-driven and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our finance team on a part-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to a purpose-driven organisation delivering vital care services.

What you’ll be doing

* Preparing and posting prepayments and accrals to support accurate monthly reporting

* Supporting and overseeing purchase and sales ledger activities

* Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts

* Playing a key role in month-end and year-end processes

* Ensuring financial records are accurate and compliant with accounting standards

* Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders

* Supporting audits and providing required documentation

What we’re looking for

* Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant (or similar) role

* Strong understanding of prepayments, accruals, and ledger processes

* Experience supporting management accounts preparation

* Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting

* Proficiency in Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel

* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

* Ability to manage your workload effectively in a part-time role

* AAT Level 3 qualified (or equivalent)

Desirable

* Experience within a care provider or healthcare setting
