Anderson Knight is delighted to partner with its client to recruit a Part Qualified Assistant Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who is looking to take the next step in their career within a well-established and supportive business.
The successful candidate will join a busy finance team, gaining exposure to a variety of accounting responsibilities while continuing to develop their skills and experience. This role would suit someone who enjoys working with numbers, has a good eye for detail and is keen to progress towards becoming a fully qualified accountant.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and meeting reporting deadlines.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end processes, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are recorded correctly.
• Support the preparation of financial reports and provide commentary where required.
• Work closely with colleagues across the business to resolve finance-related queries.
• Assist with VAT returns and other statutory reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing finance processes and procedures.
• Provide general support to the wider finance team as required.
Skills & Experience
• Currently studying towards an accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Previous experience within an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes.
• Strong Excel skills, with the ability to work confidently with financial data.
• Experience using accounting software and financial systems.
• Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• A positive, proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
