Looking for a field sales role where you can develop existing accounts, win new business and take ownership of your territory?

We're recruiting an Area Sales Manager for a supplier to the garden retail sector. You'll combine regular customer visits with account development and new business, focusing on growing sales and strengthening relationships across your region.

What's the job?

As Area Sales Manager, you'll manage and develop retail accounts across northern London and the surrounding territory, including Hertfordshire, Essex, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

You'll visit customers regularly, secure orders and identify opportunities to increase sales. You'll also develop new accounts and work with colleagues to ensure customers receive a high standard of service.

Day to day, you'll be:

Building relationships with garden centres and independent retailers

Securing orders and growing sales within existing accounts

Identifying, approaching and winning new customers

Negotiating commercial opportunities and improving in-store visibility

Planning efficient routes and managing your diary

Supporting merchandising and coordinating customer support

Working towards sales and activity targets

Reviewing sales performance and sharing customer and competitor feedback

What do I need?

Experience in field sales, account management or business development

A track record of growing accounts and winning new business

Confidence selling and negotiating face to face

Strong organisation and the ability to manage your own territory

Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to achieving targets

Full UK driving licence

You might already be an Area Sales Manager, Territory Manager or Sales Representative supplying garden centres or independent retailers. Equally, you could bring transferable experience from giftware, homewares, DIY or other consumer products.

Most importantly, you'll enjoy getting out in front of customers, spotting opportunities and following them through.
