Hamilton Barber Recruitment is working in partnership with a values-led organisation to appoint an experienced Retail Area Manager to oversee a portfolio of retail sites within the Rotherham area.

The Opportunity
This role will take responsibility for leading multiple retail locations, ensuring consistent delivery of operational standards, strong financial performance, and an exceptional customer experience.
You will play a key role in developing Shop Managers and their teams, driving sales growth, and contributing to wider organisational objectives through effective leadership and strategic oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Performance
* Lead, coach and develop Shop Managers across multiple sites
* Drive sales, Gift Aid performance and key commercial KPIs
* Analyse performance data and implement improvement plans
* Support new store openings, refits and ongoing growth
Operations & Compliance
* Ensure consistency in retail standards, processes and controls
* Conduct regular site visits, audits and performance reviews
* Maintain compliance with all relevant policies and procedures
People & Development
* Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development
* Build a high-performing, inclusive and engaged team culture
* Identify succession planning and talent development opportunities
Customer & Community Focus
* Champion a strong customer and supporter experience
* Build relationships within the local community
* Support initiatives to maximise income and engagement
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who bring a strong combination of commercial awareness and people leadership.
Essential:
* Retail management experience
* Proven ability to deliver and exceed sales targets
* Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills
* Commercially astute with strong analytical capability
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
* Exposure to visual merchandising and EPOS systems
