Adult Social Care Paralegal – London Local Authority
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Adult Social Care Paralegal to join a busy Legal Services team within a London Local Authority. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced public‑sector environment and is committed to supporting vulnerable adults through high‑quality legal work.
Key Responsibilities

Provide legal support across the full range of Adult Social Care matters, including:
*
Mental Capacity Act (MCA) applications
*
Court of Protection proceedings
*
Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
*
Community Care and Care Act 2014 matters
*
Ordinary residence and funding disputes
*
Prepare high‑quality legal documentation, including court bundles, witness statements, instructions to counsel, and case summaries.
*
Manage a varied caseload under supervision, ensuring deadlines are met and cases progress efficiently.
*
Liaise with social workers, external agencies, counsel, and other stakeholders to gather evidence and support case preparation.
*
Conduct legal research and provide clear, accurate advice notes to solicitors and service managers.
*
Maintain accurate case records in line with local authority policies and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Experience
*
Previous experience working within Adult Social Care law, Court of Protection, or public‑sector legal services.
*
Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and associated statutory frameworks.
*
Excellent drafting, organisational, and case‑management skills.
*
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with internal and external partners.

A proactive, detail‑focused approach with the ability to manage competing priorities
