An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Adult Social Care Lawyer to join a busy and supportive legal team within a local authority environment.
This role offers the chance to work on a varied and complex caseload, providing legal advice, advocacy and litigation support across a broad range of adult social care matters.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert legal advice on adult social care law, including:
* Care Act 2014
* Mental Capacity Act 2005 (including Court of Protection, DoLS and Re X applications)
* Mental Health Act 1983
* Manage a caseload of complex matters, including judicial review and tribunal proceedings
* Conduct advocacy and represent the authority in courts and tribunals
* Draft legal documents including pleadings, witness statements, reports and orders
* Advise officers, members and stakeholders on legal risk and decision-making
* Support service development and continuous improvement initiatives
This role involves full litigation responsibility and regular engagement with key stakeholders across the organisation .
About You
* Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or FCILEX
* Minimum 3 years’ PQE in adult social care law
* Strong technical expertise across relevant legislation and case law
* Experience managing complex cases and conducting litigation
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to assess and mitigate legal risk effectively
